PLANNING COMMISSION VACANCY
Hey there! Are you a Town of Draper property owner interested in the future of Draper-Loretta-Oxbo? We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable individual to join our team!
There is a current vacancy on the five member Draper Planning Commission: you will be serving out the remainder of a three year term that runs from April 2021-April 2024. The Planning Commission’s main mission is to guide the implementation of the town’s Comprehensive Plan, which may be viewed HERE.
Members are non-elected volunteers who receive $25 per diems. Meetings are quarterly, but they can be more frequent when working on a big project. The Planning Commission works to review zoning laws, permits, and infrastructure projects and provides support to the town board. Our members bring different skills to the table in the fields of business, technology, and community development.
Members should be proficient in using Word, Excel, email and Zoom to work on projects and coordinate with the town clerk and the town board. Knowledge of local geography, ability to read maps and use GIS, business experience and a basic understanding of land and property laws is a big asset to the team. A member may need to attend a Sawyer County Board meeting or other business or agency meetings or training sessions that arise. Patience, teamwork and a sense of humor are a must! This is a fun group of people who enjoy working together.
If you are interested, please fill out this APPLICATION and email it to [email protected].
Applications will be reviewed at the next quarterly meeting in July, and the new member will be appointed by the town board at the July board meeting. If you have any questions, email them to [email protected].
We look forward to working with you!
